Pizhichil is a speciality Ayurvedic treatment with exemplary benefits. The treatment is also known as Kaya Seka, Taila Seka and Sarvanga Sneha. The Ayurvedic term Pizhichil translates to squeezing. The medicated oil for the massage therapy is squeezed from a cloth dipped in the warm medicated oil into the patient’s body.

Pizhichil Treatment in Ayurveda, is a combination of oil massage and heat treatment. This therapy was mostly used by Maharajas in the olden days, and popularly known as treatment for aristocrats. A gentle, synchronized massage of up and down is carried out on all parts of the body other than the head are subjected to this treatment.

Pizhichil is a combination of two classical Ayurvedic treatments called as Snehana (oil massage)and Swedana (fomentation, sweat inducing, sudation). The treatment procedure involves pouring of herbal oils or ghee over the body for a fixed duration of time and inducing sweat under the guidance of trained Ayurvedic physician. The Ayurvedic procedure also involves simultaneous massage to enhance the benefits of the treatment.

This therapy is a beautiful combination of two classical Ayurvedic treatments, Snehana (oleation) and Swedana (sudation). The whole body is bathed in streams of lukewarm medicated oil with simultaneous soft massage. Three therapists attend to the client, focusing on their particular needs. More than three liters of relaxing, medicated oil is used in this therapy. Pizhichil protects the body from illnesses and builds up immunity for a healthy life. It is very useful for rheumatic diseases, arthritis, paralysis, sexual weakness, neurological disorders, blood pressure, nervous weakness and helps to arrest the aging process.
